Our Starlight Strut charity walk

22nd May, 2017

On Friday 19th May, six of us Routen Chaplin ladies did a 5k walk for the charity Treetops Hospice. The sponsored walk is for ladies only and took place in Derby City at 10pm.

Throughout the year, we participate in many charity events to raise money for Treetops Hospice. They are a charity who support people with life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis, offering end of life care. It also supports their families and carers. The hospice must raise more than £3million every year to continue its running, 70% of which comes from donations and fundraising events.

With our walk, we managed to raise and contribute an impressive £620 for this wonderful charity. The money will be put towards building more accommodation at Risley, which is expected to cost over £1million. The extra space means that Treetops can offer care to even more people.
